I forced myself to sew, and some funny news.

I worked on my polka dot dress today. I managed to sew on the skirt to see how it looked on me, before I finish the neck facing and braid detail that will go around the neckline. I can't tell if I like it yet. I've noticed that I usually dont like things I sew until the sleeves are on. I just can't tell if it is flattering until I have sleeves to balance out my bottom half. I don't know, but here is a somewhat good shot of what it will kind of look like.

The dress actually has an elastic waistline, which I thought was kind of weird for a Vogue pattern, but who am I to judge Vogue? Then there are the ties that go around the waist, making this dress a sort of mock wrap-around. Stacey and Clinton love mock wrap-arounds, so I guess I can't go wrong. I'm going to put the elastic in tomorrow, as well as finish the neckline details. On Thursday I'll put on the sleeves. No zipper = happiness.

My husband started a blog, and it is kind of about me and my lack of interest in politics... it's called, "My Wife Calls Herself a Democrat" (don't lie, I know that caught your interest). He enjoys making fun of me. It will be updated daily as well. Take a gander.

I really wasn't fishing for followers yesterday, but I wont lie and say I'm grateful that I've hit 80. Shameless.
